COMMENTING ON THIS APPOINTMENT, DR NELSON MARTINS SAY: IT IS GREAT HONOUR FOR THE COUNTRY, HEALTH SECTOR, AND ESPECIALLY TO THE IV CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT UNDER THE LEADERSHIP H.E PRIME MINISTER DR KAY RALA XANANA GUSMAO WHO IS CONSTANTLY CALLED FOR EVIDENCE HEALTH POLICY IN DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH SECTOR. THE CABINET OF HEALTH RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF MINISTRY OF HEALTH WILL BENEFIT EXTENSIVELY FROM THIS APPOINTMENT.

WE WILL FOSTER THE COLLABORATION IN RESEARCH AND TRAININGS BOTH CLINICALLY AND IN THE AREA OF PUBLIC HEALTH WITH MENZIES SCHOOL OF HEALTH RESEARCH TO COMBATE  NEW AND AN EMERGING INFECTIOUS DISEASE  THAT CURRENTLY INFECTED AND KILLED MANY CHILD, MOTHER AND ELDERLY IN TIMOR-LESTE.
